Lightsabers have returned to Fortnite in this latest crossover between the Battle Royale and Star Wars.
A new update has gone live in-game, bringing a ton of content themed around the popular fantasy franchise.
With this collaboration, players can once again get their hands on the iconic plasma blade, but this time they come with the power of the force!
How to Get a Lightsaber in Fortnite
Unlike in previous seasons, the Lightsaber can not be found in chests or ground loot. You can only obtain one by training at rift locations with:
- Darth Maul – Red
- Anakin Skywalker – Blue
- Obi-Wan Kenobi – Green
These locations spawn all over the map but are only visible when you are close to one. Look at the map in the top right corner for the rift icons to see if you are nearby.
You will need to be careful as these locations will also show for players around the area. Make sure you loot up before heading to one.
Depending on which person you train with will decide what color Lightsaber you receive and what force powers will come with it:
- Darth Maul – Red & Force Throw
- Anakin Skywalker – Blue & Force Pull
- Obi-Wan Kenobi – Green & Force Push
Of course, in the Star Wars universe, the blue-colored Lightsaber is most notably carried by Anakin Skywalker, who now has a skin in Fortnite!
How to Use Lightsabers in Fortnite
There are four functionalities that the Lightsabers have in-game. Players can swing the blade, block shots, use the force or force jump:
- Melee
- PlayStation: R2
- Xbox: RT
- PC: Left-Mouse Button
- Block:
- PlayStation: L2
- Xbox: LT
- PC: Right-Mouse Button
- Special Force Ability
- PlayStation: R2 while blocking
- Xbox: RT while blocking
- PC: Left-Mouse Button while blocking
- Force Jump (In-Air)
- PlayStation: X
- Xbox: A
- PC: Space
This energy sword is not the only Star Wars weapon in Fortnite, as players can also get the DC-15 Blaster in the game!
