To complete the Keeping the Old Traditions side quest in Diablo 4, you need to stand in front of the demon statue found in the Untamed Scarps area, and use the Yes emote.
You must first find the Lonely Offering in the Untamed Scarps area in the Dry Steppes Regions to activate the quest.
You may not have the Yes emote equipped by default, so we’ll show you how to equip it below. For a complete breakdown of where to go and how to activate the emote, keep reading:
- To start the Keeping the Old Traditions side quest, head to the Untamed Scarps area in the Dry Steppes region and pick up the ‘Lonely Offering‘ note found on the ground.
- After interacting with the Lonely Offering, you’ll be presented with a riddle
- In order to solve this riddle, you must use the “Yes” emote at the demon statue in the Untamed Scarps area

- To find the demon statue, head to the location indicated on the map below
- You’ll find it in the Dry Steppes area Northeast of the Jirandai Waypoint and Northwest of the Qara Yisu Waypoint

- Walk up to the large statue built into the wall on your left
- It looks like a demon with horns, a grinning mouth, and a crown of skulls

- Equip the Yes emote
- To equip an emote, do the following:
- On console:
- Hold up on the D-Pad
- Select a slot to place the Yes emote
- Press Triangle/Y to open up your available emotes
- Choose the Yes emote with X/A
- On PC:
- Press “E” on PC to open the emote wheel
- Use your mouse to select Customize and then the Yes Emote
- On console:
- To equip an emote, do the following:

- Activate the Yes emote next to the statue

- A hidden chest will appear on your right
- Open it to complete the quest

Keeping the Old Traditions Quest Rewards
Players will be rewarded with XP and gold, which will vary depending on their current level and World Tier, as well as Renown for the region and two Weak Elixirs.
