Fans have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Bethesda’s latest title, Starfield, so much so that they’re beginning to fear it’s been delayed again until 2024.

Considering just how big Bethesda’s new space-exploration game is, it’s no surprise that its release date has been pushed back a few times.

Bethesda has since promised the game would release on September 6, 2023, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that it could come out later.

So, is Starfield’s release date getting moved back a few months? Fortunately, the answer is a lot more positive than many may expect.

Is Starfield Delayed Again Until 2024?

No, Starfield has not been delayed again until 2024. It is still on track to launch on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

In fact, for those who pre-order the Premium Edition of the game, Starfield will be playable even earlier, from Friday, September 1, 2023.

Fans have been anticipating a further delay to Starfield for a while, largely due to its sheer size and Bethesda’s track record of buggy launches.

In defense of the fans, Starfield has been delayed multiple times in the past, setting a precedent for future delays.

It was initially slated to release on November 11, 2022, but was then delayed in May 2022 to the somewhat vague date of sometime during “the first half of 2023”.

However, it was then delayed a second time from March 2023 to September 6, 2023, which is currently its official launch date.

It’s worth noting that, so far, Bethesda has given no reason to doubt the September 2023 launch date. In fact, it’s scheduled to receive a theatre presentation at Gamescom later this month, according to the Xbox blog.
