Siphon in Fortnite is a game-changer, encouraging aggressive play and adding an extra layer of strategy to competitions. It provides players with health and shield upon them eliminating another player.

Is Siphon Returning to Fortnite?

Siphon is returning to Fortnite but only for certain competitive tournaments. The following will have the Siphon mechanic enabled:

  • FNCS Major 3
  • Last Chance Major
  • Solo Victory Cash Cup
  • Duos Cash Cup

Fortnite confirmed this information on its updates Twitter account. According to the tweet, Siphon could make a permanent return if the developers feel it does not negatively impact tournaments.

Whether Siphon will make a lasting return does still remain uncertain, and only participants in the mentioned tournaments will experience its temporary comeback. Currently, Siphon is not enabled in Ranked.

What Is Siphon in Fortnite?

Siphon, a mechanic in Fortnite, grants players health after eliminating an opponent. Upon securing a kill, players receive 50 health, and any excess health beyond the maximum 100 is converted into shield.

Since its debut during Season 7 in December 2018, Siphon has become a staple in the game’s competitions, particularly in the Arena mode.

However, with the arrival of Fortnite Ranked in May 2023, Arena mode was entirely removed from the game. Along with it, Siphon was also disabled.

Is Siphon Currently Active in Fortnite?

In Fortnite matches, Siphon is active, but it is tied to two specific Reality Augments – Shotgun Striker and Rarity Check.

For Shotgun Striker, you will receive Siphon benefits for each shotgun hit.

On the other hand, Rarity Check grants Siphon upon eliminating players while using Common or Uncommon weapons.

Nevertheless, getting these Siphon Reality Augments depends on luck or requires a large amount of gold for multiple re-rolls.
