Hogwarts Legacy is quite possibly the most exciting piece of Harry Potter media since the books, but how open world is the Wizarding World?
If you’re preparing to explore Hogwarts as the Witch or Wizard you’ve always wanted to be, you’re not alone. It’s clear that fans are eager for more details about the upcoming title.
Luckily, we recently got 14 minutes of new Hogwarts Legacy gameplay footage to keep us occupied! And alongside it, Portkey Games was able to reveal some very interesting new information about the Wizarding World.
The publisher has also teased our new Hogwarts Legacy release date but it’s still quite some time until we get to set foot in Hogwarts for ourselves.
How Open World is Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy is described as being open-world by its development team, and it seems that there’s far more to explore than just the iconic castle!
We’ve known for a while now that Hogwarts Legacy will let players venture outside the school grounds. In fact, areas like the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade, and even Diagon Alley appear in the latest trailers.
But that’s not all – Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to travel far beyond any other Harry Potter game before it.
Using your handy broom (or hippogriff) you’ll be able to freely explore a wide-open world, which developer Avalanche Software sees as an essential part of its vision.
“When it comes to the open-world, we just knew it wasn’t going to be enough to stare out of the windows of Hogwarts and wonder what it’s like out there,” Game Director Alan Tew claims.
If you’ve ever wanted to see what’s beyond the Forbidden Forest, or the Black Lake, or even Hogsmeade, you will be able to in Hogwarts Legacy, the Director confirms.
