The Black Ops 6 Beta has finally arrived, and fans all over the world are eager to drop into our first taste of Call of Duty 2024.
Unfortunately, COD HQ is still causing issues for the Call of Duty player base, especially for casual fans. And if you don’t want to install over 200 GB of unnecessary content, we’ve got a trick to help you out.
After you purchase Black Ops 6 on Steam, it appears in your library as simply: Call of Duty.
This is because Activision has grouped all its titles in a single title, which allows users to switch between their premium titles and the free-to-play Call of Duty Warzone.
How to Install Only the Black Ops 6 Beta
The good news is that you don’t need to install all the extra content if you only want to play the Black Ops 6 Beta!
Here’s how to install only the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta, and pass on installing the likes of MW2, MW3, and Warzone:
- First, purchase Black Ops 6 on Steam (alternatively, redeem a Beta code)
- Head to your Steam Library and find ‘Call of Duty‘
- Right-click on the game’s name in your Library list, and select ‘Properties‘
- Select the ‘DLC‘ tab
- Then, uncheck every box except for the Black Ops 6 content, which should appear at the very end of the list
This will take the massive 250 GB+ Call of Duty installation down to a much more manageable 68 GB.
While you’re saving on storage space, you can also avoid unnecessarily installing content that you’re no longer looking to use.
Of course, you can choose to install Warzone or older COD titles at a later date by returning to the DLC tab at any point.
