Infinity Ward’s co-design director of multiplayer, Joe Cecot, has addressed a recent Riot Shield bug in Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare.
The Riot Shield isn’t the most popular choice of weapon. Whereas some players claim it can promote a negative playstyle, others might be more inclined to use it for protection.
Usually, if you have Overkill equipped you can play aggressively while also using the Riot Shield to protect your back. However, this recent bug has most players avoiding the weapon at all costs.
Call of Duty Warzone Riot Shield Bug
The issue in question allows players to shoot through Riot Shields. While the purpose of this weapon is to offer protection, players aren’t very happy.
Twitter user ‘TheseKnivesOnly’ showcases the issue from both perspectives. In a recent video, the player crouches in the corner of the building with a shield.
When the enemy begins shooting, the player takes damage even though the riot shield appears to cover them.
In response to this tweet, Joe Cecot has confirmed they will investigate the issue.
Although it looks like a fix is coming soon, Cecot hasn’t specified an exact date as of yet.
It’s possible that it will be resolved in the mid-season update, however.
Infinity Ward has already confirmed that the mid-season update will mainly include weapon balancing and it looks like it will include a whole host of other fixes, too.
According to the Modern Warfare Trello Board, a fix for a ‘known ammo glitch’ also appears to be in the works.
