How to Use Voice Chat & Communicate on Vanguard Crossplay

Crossplay is one of the best features in Call of Duty Vanguard, but you’ll need to make sure you have the right settings to use Crossplay voice chat.

Crossplay is a great feature as it lets you play your favorite games with your friends on other platforms. Luckily, Call of Duty Vanguard has all of the Crossplay features you expect, including voice chat.

However, chatting and communicating with your friends via Crossplay in Vanguard isn’t always as easy as it seems.

Luckily, we’ve got all of the answers on how to use Crossplay voice chat in Vanguard on every platform.

Vanguard Crossplay Communication For PS4, PS5, Xbox & PC

Call of Duty players have had a number of issues with Vanguard so far. This includes packet burst and server problems, as well as weapon camos not unlocking and, worst of all, loads of hackers playing Vanguard already.

Therefore, the last thing you need is to not be able to chat with your friend via Crossplay.

To make sure your crossplay chat works, you will need to follow a few steps:

  • Head into the ‘Account & Network’ tab of the Settings menu and make sure ‘Crossplay’ is turned on.
  • This will let you join parties with your friends on other platforms.
  • For players on PS4, PS5 and Xbox, you should also make sure that the ‘Crossplay Communication’ is set to enabled in the ‘Account & Network’ tab.
  • If you are on PC, go to the ‘Audio’ tab and make sure your ‘Mic Activation Mode’ setting is on ‘Open Mic’. Sometimes players have it set to ‘Push To Talk’ without realizing, meaning your teammates can’t hear you.
  • Again for PC players, make sure your ‘Voice Chat Device’ and ‘Microphone Device’ are set correctly.

Unfortunately, some players are still experiencing issues where they can’t hear their friends using Vanguard’s Crossplay voice chat. Luckily, we have found a very simple solution.

Vanguard Crossplay Voice Chat Issue & How to Fix it

Once you’ve made sure you have the best Call of Duty Vanguard settings, including those for Crossplay, there’s one other thing you can do.

From our experience at Gaming Intel, sometimes the Crossplay voice chat in Vanguard sometimes takes a minute to work. If you can’t hear your squadmates in the pre-match lobby then just load into a game.

From our experience the chat should always work once you’re in a match, so give that a go and see if it works. Sometimes the problems will fix themselves!

Although, for many players chat audio is totally fine. It is the game audio that is causing major problems for a load of Vanguard players.

@SpyralGnombe, I’m having the exact same problem, “crossplay communications” toggle just isn’t there in the account & network tab and I can only talk to other Xbox people. If you find a solution, please reply! I’ll do the same.
