PS4 performance of God of War Ragnarok sits at a solid 30 FPS with an HD resolution, but some players might want to upgrade their experience with cross-save.
Sony’s handy cross-save functionality allows gamers to transfer data across systems, including, to those lucky enough to have one, a PS5.
Does God of War Ragnarok Have Cross-Save?
Yes, God of War Ragnarok does allow cross-save between PS4 and PS5 devices. Players can transfer their save data to another PS4 or a PS5 via cloud storage or by using an external hard drive or USB.

If you plan on transferring your PS4 save files to PS5, the transfer is a simple export and import process. But while you can take those same files back again, you can not transfer your God of War Ragnarok PS5 saved files to PS4.
While cloud storage is a hardware-free method to transfer saved files, this does require a Playstation Plus membership.
PS5 consoles not only support USB-A with two ports but also SuperSpeed USB with one port for external hard drives. But not all games support cross-save functionality and transferring save files, and it is currently impossible to transfer saves from PS4 or PS5 to PC or vice versa.
How Do I Use Cross-Save with God of War Ragnarok?
There are two methods to cross-save with God of War Ragnarok. To transfer your save data from PS4 to PS5, you will either need:
- Playstation Plus subscription to use cloud storage
- An external hard drive or USB

You cannot transfer your God of War Ragnarok PS5 saved files to PS4.

While transferring saved files from PS4 to PS5 and back again is possible, you cannot transfer your PS5 God of War Ragnarok saved files to PS4.
What is Cross-Save?
Cross-save is a method developed by Sony for transferring saved files between PS4 and PS5 consoles, developed to help smooth the transition between the eighth console generation and the ninth.

It requires either an external hard drive, USB, or a Playstation Plus subscription with cloud storage to utilize.
Currently, there is no way to transfer saved data between a PC and Playstation consoles.
