PlayStation fans around the world have been eagerly waiting for Jin Sakai’s next adventure ever since they got their hands on Ghost of Tsushima a year ago. Luckily, Sony has just announced a brand-new version of the game with a huge expansion.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut features the huge Iki Island expansion, complete with a new story, new characters, and a beautiful new island to explore. What’s more, there will also be a full PS5 version of the game with some great enhancements and new features.
What’s even better for Tsushima fans is that the Director’s Cut will be available at a reduced price for players who own the original game. Here is how you can upgrade and get access to all of the new content.
How to Upgrade to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS4
Players who have the original Ghost of Tsushima game will be able to pre-order the Director’s Cut upgrade soon. It costs $19.99 and will be playable on August 20, when the game releases.
It’s good that Sony is releasing the Director’s Cut on PS4 as well, as it continues to support last-gen. However, the PS4 and PS5 versions of Horizon Forbidden West will have major differences.
Although, if you’re one of the lucky few who has managed to get a PS5, you have to upgrade in a different way.
How to Upgrade to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS5
If you have the original Ghost of Tsushima game on PS4, you can also upgrade to the PS5 version of the Director’s Cut. However, the upgrade will cost an additional $10, making the total cost $29.99, and it will be available on August 20.
If you want all the added PS5 features including a higher frame rate and faster load times, this is the upgrade you’ll want to pick, even if it is a bit more expensive.
Hopefully, future PlayStation Games like the delayed God of War Ragnarok will feature PS4 to PS5 upgrades like this too.
Additionally, players who have already have the PS4 Director’s Cut can also upgrade it to the PS5 version. This upgrade with cost an additional $9.99 and will be available from August 20, when the game releases.
Sony will release more details about the upgrades nearer to the game’s release. Let’s hope that some more Ghost of Tsushima information is revealed at the upcoming PlayStation State of Play 2021 presentation.
