Looking to get your hands on the M13B Assault Rifle in MW2 and Warzone 2? Here’s how to obtain it in DMZ for free!
Warzone 2.0 is finally here, and with it comes DMZ, a brand-new extraction shooter game mode with more than a few secrets to explore.
In this new mode, players are tasked with creating their own narratives, and exploring Al Mazrah as they see fit. But the mode also holds a few tricks to help you progress in Warzone and MW2, if you know where to look.
For instance, did you know that extracting with a Contraband weapon will unlock that gun in Warzone 2 and MW2 multiplayer?
And in the case of the M13B, that’s the only way to get your hands on the weapon for free!
How to Unlock the M13B in MW2 & Warzone 2.0
To unlock the new M13B Assault Rifle, Warzone 2 players must drop into DMZ and defeat The Chemist, a new AI opponent.
Once the enemy is down, simply take the AI’s M13B and successfully extract (step-by-step guide below).
Alternatively, the M13B can also be unlocked by purchasing a new Blueprint from the Call of Duty Store.

Initially, Activision reported that the M13B would also have a weapon unlock challenge, allowing multiplayer fans to get their hands on the gun.
It’s entirely possible that one will become available in the future.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the other best loadouts in Warzone 2 here!
Where to Find the Chemist Location in DMZ
The Chemist will be located in the Radiation Zone of DMZ, wielding the M13B assault rifle. Look at your Tac Map for the yellow nuclear icon and The Chemist will be waiting in that zone.
When you head into the Radiation Zone, an alert at the top of the screen will announce ‘The Chemist Is Nearby’.

Gas Masks will also help combat the effects of the Radiation Zone, so be prepared before you head over there.
You’ll also encounter a large amount of AI enemies, so be ready for a fight! Once you find The Chemist, a yellow hazmat suit-wearing boss AI, take him down and you’ll be able to pick up his M13B assault rifle.
Then it’s a simple task of heading to an Exfil point and calling in your ride out of there. Remember, if you don’t successfully extract with the weapon in hand, you won’t unlock it in MW2 and Warzone 2.

What’s more, only the player actually holding the M13B during extraction will unlock the gun! You’ll need to Exfil with it in-game once for each player that wants to unlock it.
However, a neat trick is to load up into a game of DMZ with the M13B, drop it for your squad member, and then immediately exfil to unlock it for them too! There’s no need to take on The Chemist each time.
Since radiation is deadly to Operators in the field, we recommend finding some Iodine Pills from nearby Medicine Cabinets and other lootable areas. This new Field Upgrade can be used to counteract the effects of radiation poisoning.

How to Kill The Chemist in DMZ
The only way to defeat The Chemist in DMZ is to head into the Radiation Zone on foot and focus your whole squad’s fire on the boss. Be wary though, as he is surrounded by powerful AI enemies, and he’s no pushover himself.
Therefore engaging the enemy with long-range weaponry is the easiest way to kill The Chemist.
Previously, the AI boss would easily die when hit by one of Warzone’s vehicles, allowing players to grab the M13B Blueprint off his body and Exfil. However, the method shown in the clip below has since been patched out, with vehicles no longer being able to enter the Radiation Zone.
Now that you’ve got your hands on the M13B, it’s time to see if the new assault rifle is worth the effort. Here’s how to level up weapons the fastest possible way in MW2!
