Dual pistols are the current meta secondary weapon to run in Warzone 2 and in MW2 – but how do you unlock the akimbo attachment?
The akimbo pistols are extremely powerful often mowing down enemies in a matter of seconds. Running these will get you a ton of kills.
And even with the recent nerf to akimbo pistols, these dual-wielded weapons are still outgunning every other weapon at close range.
How to Unlock Akimbo Pistols in MW2 & Warzone 2
To unlock dual pistols, you will need to get each pistol to these levels:
- P890 – Unlocked at P890 Level 26
- Basilisk – Unlocked at Basilisk Level 28
- X12 – Unlocked at X12 Level 19
- X13 Auto – Unlocked at X12 Level 19
- .50 GS – Unlocked at .50 GS Level 17
And using this quick weapon XP trick in Warzone 2, you will have these guns maxed out in no time!
Once you’ve leveled your weapon to the right level, you’ll be able to carry twice as much firepower! The akimbo attachment will then be located in the Rear Grip attachment slot.

Best Warzone 2 & MW2 Akimbo Pistols To Use
With the recent update, there have been quite a lot of changes to these weapons. Here are the current best dual pistols to use in Warzone 2 and MW2 in Season 2 reloaded:
- X13 Auto
- P890
- X12
- Basilisk
- .50 GS
Before deciding which pistol you want to equip, make sure to read over all the weapon nerfs and buffs in the Season 1 Reloaded Patch Notes.
After the update, the X13 Auto tops the list but the P890 and X12 are not far behind it. These pistols take up the top three for a variety of reasons:
- Fast Fire Rate
- Low Time to Kill
- High Magazine Capacity
These pistols are the most reliable but if you are confident you can hit your shots in Warzone 2 or MW2, the Basilisk pistol can be a heavy hitter!
However, due to its low magazine capacity, you will need to make every bullet count!
