You can play Hogwarts Legacy early on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S by pre-ordering the digital Deluxe Edition of the game before February 7, 2023.

Unfortunately, the 72-hour early access is not available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or the Nintendo Switch. This is because their versions are releasing long after the next-gen versions.

Of course, if you want to make the most of those 72 extra hours, you’ll want to ensure you have installed Hogwarts Legacy before February 7. Otherwise, you’ll waste your early access period downloading the game!

These extra 72 hours will help you work through Hogwarts Legacy’s surprisingly long story before anyone else. That way, you’ll avoid all the spoilers!

Here are the full instructions on how to play it 72 hours early:

  • Head to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S digital storefront before February 7, 2023.
  • Search for Hogwarts Legacy and select it.
  • Scroll down until you find the editions.
  • Select Deluxe Edition.
    • It costs $79.99/£74.99.
  • Confirm your purchase.

It is worth noting that the digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99/£74.99, whereas the regular edition costs $69.99/£64.99. So, if you want to play Hogwarts Legacy 72 hours early, you will need to fork out an extra $10.

However, you will also get several other rewards for purchasing the Deluxe Edition. Also included in this edition are the Dark Arts Pack and the Dark Arts Garrison Hat.

The Dark Arts Pack includes a Thestral mount, Dark Arts Battle Arena, and a cosmetic set. Currently, the only way of getting it is via the Deluxe Edition.

There are several other differences between the Deluxe edition and other editions of the game that are also worth checking out to see if you’re getting your money’s worth.

Additionally, if you get Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation, you’ll also have access to a spooky exclusive quest with a game-changing reward!

You will still be able to play Hogwarts Legacy early if you pre-order the digital Deluxe Edition after February 7, 2023, so long as it’s before the game’s official release date.
