How to Play Split Screen in Fortnite
To play Fortnite in split-screen mode, follow these instructions:
- Launch Fortnite and enter the main Lobby.
- Turn on a second controller and select a user.
- Player 2 must then hold Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to Log in
- Wait while Fortnite logs in Player 2.
- Once logged in, they will appear in the Lobby, and you can start playing.
The split screen mode in Fortnite is only accessible on PlayStation and Xbox and is currently unavailable on PC, Nintendo Switch, or mobile devices.

You can also play split screen in the Zero Build and Battle Royale game modes. However, these are the modes within those that are accessible in split screen:
- Battle Royale Duos
- Zero Build Duos
- Zero Build Trios
- Zero Build Quads

You cannot currently play Battle Royale Trios or Quads in split-screen mode. Furthermore, the following modes cannot be played split screen:

It is worth noting that if either player disconnects or quits while playing in split screen mode, you’ll revert to normal and will have to log Player 2 in again.
