This feature is brand-new to Black Ops Cold War zombies alongside Season One, and is a very simple process. Any zombies player, no matter your skill level, will not have a hard time completing this fun Easter Egg.

Before you can even think about petting the Plaguehound, you must turn the power on, and forge the Pack-A-Punch machine.

Once you have successfully done that, all you need to do is purchase the ammo mod "Brain Rot" from the Pack-A-Punch machine for any weapon you have acquired in the game.

You don't even need to upgrade the weapon at the Pack-A-Punch machine. Just tab to the right and select Brain Rot. Your normal variant of your weapon will equip Brain Rot.

Brain Rot costs 2500 points.

Next, wait for a Plaguehound to spawn in. You might get a stray Plaguehound in the midst of all the zombies during normal rounds, or you can just wait for a Plaguehound round.

Shoot the Plaguehound with your Brain Rot weapon. Once the Plaguehound is standing still near you, walk up to your new ally and a prompt will appear on screen with the option to pet the Plaguehound.

Your character will then reach out and pet your new companion.

You will also get an additional 50 points when you pet your new ally for the first time. The point description reads "Good Dog" when you pet the hound.
