Which Attacks Can You Parry in God of War Ragnarok?

There are four types of attacks in God of War Ragnarok: normal attacks, blue-ringed attacks, yellow-ringed attacks, and red-ringed attacks.

You can parry normal and yellow-ringed attacks. However, yellow-ringed attacks are significantly harder to parry, and if you fail, you’ll receive even more damage as you’ll be staggered.

Should you successfully parry a yellow-ringed attack, then you will inflict a lot of Stun to the enemy’s Stun Bar. Attempting to parry a red-ringed attack is futile, however, as those attacks are entirely unblockable.

How to Shield Bash in God of War Ragnarok

To Shield Bash in God of War Ragnarok, double-tap L1. Each Shield in God of War Ragnarok enhances your Shield Bash move uniquely, so keep an eye out for that.

Enemies that attack you with a blue-ringed attack can only be interrupted by shield bashing. If you see blue rings around them, that is the time to double-tap L1.
