How to Increase Your Inventory Size in Zelda: TOTK

You will start off with a pretty small inventory in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, barely big enough to fit every tree branch and rock-Fused stick you come across.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to increase the size of your inventory. All you need to do is pick up a handful of Korok Seeds and head to Hestu.

How to Get Extra Inventory Slots in TOTK

You get extra inventory slots for your melee weapons, bows, and shields in Tears of the Kingdom by trading your Korok Seeds with Hestu (the maraca-loving tree seen below.)

You can only hold nine melee weapons, five bows, and four shields at the beginning of the game. However, you can max each of these inventories out to:

19 Melee Weapons
14 Bows
20 Shields

Of course, you’ll need to know the best places to grab Korok Seeds if you’re going to expand your inventory considerably.

Also, it’s worth knowing just where to find Hestu, as depending on where you are in the story, he can be in three different locations!

How Many Korok Seeds Do You Need to Unlock All Inventory Slots in TOTK?

You will need to collect 421 Korok Seeds in order to completely max out each of your inventories in Tears of the Kingdom.

This breaks down to:

153 Korok Seeds for Melee Weapon slots.
108 Korok Seeds for Bow slots.
160 Korok Seeds for Shield slots.

You will need to pay the cost for each inventory separately, and the cost increases for each inventory depending on how many slots you’ve already unlocked for it.
