Shells are a key crafting component in LEGO Fortnite, and also make a healthy snack, but where can you find them?
If you’re starting out your LEGO Fortnite adventure, you’ll soon need to get your hands on a Shell or two.
After all, these materials are necessary to upgrade your Crafting Bench, which is something that is recommended to you almost immediately.
Where to Get Shells
The only way to get Shells in LEGO Fortnite is by defeating Rollers, hostile creatures found around the open world.
These enemies will always drop a Shell when defeated.
Here’s how to find and beat the elusive creatures:
Rollers will spawn around the grassy plains and forest areas of the LEGO world. You’ll be able to find them fairly regularly, however they will be hiding from sight.
These enemies hide in the ground, making them tough to spot from afar. You can detect them by looking for rocks with what looks like flowers sticking out of the top.
When you get close enough, Rollers will emerge from the ground and charge at you with a speedy rolling attack.
To defeat a Roller, be sure to run to the side when it is preparing to strike, then hit it with a weapon.
Rollers have two main attacks – a quick rolling move and a bite – and they pause briefly before using each one.
Both moves can be dodged by leaping to the side (Triangle/Y/CTRL) or simply running sideways. Then, hitting the Roller with a Sword or even a Pickaxe will deal enough damage to quickly take them out.
You’ll need to defeat three Rollers to get enough Shells. Be sure not to accidentally eat them – you’ll need all three for the Crafting Bench upgrade!
