The Legendary Shadow Lugia has finally returned to Pokemon GO during the October 2023 Team GO Rocket Takeover event – here’s how you can get it!
Currently, the only way to get Shadow Lugia in Pokemon GO is by defeating it in a 5-Star Shadow Raid.
However, these Raids will only be available from 10 AM local time on October 28 to 8 PM local time on October 29, 2023. This gives played just two days to defeat and catch Shadow Lugia!
For the first time ever, you can also catch the shiny version of Shadow Lugia. Although Shadow Lugia’s shiny odds are 1 in 20, so you may have to defeat it plenty of times!
Previously, Shadow Lugia was available to catch by defeating Giovanni from November 2021 until April 2022, or by finishing the Masterwork Research: Apex. This was a ticketed Research released in the GO Tour: Johto event in February 2022.
When Will Shadow Lugia Return to Pokemon GO?
Shadow Lugia is returning to Pokemon GO at 10 AM local time on Saturday, October 28, 2023. It will be in 5-Star Shadow Raids from this time until 8 PM local time on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Following this weekend, it is not known when Shadow Lugia will next be available to get in Pokemon GO.
Therefore, we suggest defeating one in a Raid on October 28 or 29. That way, you can catch one in the short window that it is available again!
