Cowboy Hat Snorlax is only available during the 2023 GO Fest: Global event on August 26-27, and there are two ways to get one:

  • Catch a Cowboy Hat Snorlax that has spawned in the wild
  • Defeat a 3-Star Cowboy Hat Snorlax Raid for the chance to catch Cowboy Hat Snorlax

All Pokemon GO players will be able to catch Cowboy Hat Snorlax using either of these methods. This is the case whether they have purchased a ticket for GO Fest: Global or not.

When is Cowboy Hat Snorlax Spawning in the Wild?

Cowboy Hat Snorlax will be spawning in the wild for all Pokemon GO players during the GO Fest: Global event on August 26 and 27, 2023.

On August 26, it is only available during the Malachite Wilderness habitat rotation, which is active from 12 PM – 1 PM and 4 PM – 5 PM local time.

Meanwhile, on August 27, Cowboy Hat Snorlax can spawn from 10 AM until 6 PM local time.

When is Cowboy Hat Snorlax in Pokemon GO Raids?

Cowboy Hat Snorlax is in Tier 3 Pokemon GO Raids from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on August 26 and August 27, 2023. This is during the GO Fest Global event.

As it is a Normal-type Pokemon, you will want to use Fighting-types to counter Cowboy Hat Snorlax when battling it.

Following its 3-Star Raid appearance in the 2023 GO Fest, Cowboy Hat Snorlax will likely not return to Raids until the 2024 GO Fest.

Can Cowboy Hat Snorlax Be Shiny?

Yes, the costumed Snorlax wearing a Cowboy Hat can be shiny, but the odds are very low.

As the shiny rate for Cowboy Hat Snorlax is 0.2%, on average, you will have to encounter around 500 before you find the shiny version.

Just like the standard shiny Snorlax, shiny Cowboy Hat Snorlax is a deeper blue color.
