2FA is a great way to secure your Fortnite account, and if you don’t know how to get it enabled, we are here to help.

By using a two-step login process, such as receiving a secondary code or using an authenticator app, 2FA acts as an additional layer of protection.

It basically means that should your password leak or get hacked, no one can use it without having access to the second code as well.

For avid Fortnite players who have invested time and resources into their in-game items, utilizing 2FA is crucial to avoid potential losses. Luckily, setting up 2FA is a simple process and Epic Games even rewards you for using it.

How to Enable 2FA on Your Fortnite Account

To enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Fortnite account, you must:

  1. Visit the website Fortnite.com/2FA.
  2. Log in to your Epic Games account.
  3. On the settings menu on the left side of the site page, click on Password & Security.
  4. Scroll to the end of Password & Security. Here you will find the prompt to enable either email 2FA, authenticator app 2FA or SMS 2FA.

What Is 2FA in Fortnite?

Fortnite’s two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security for your account. It works by requesting an additional code from one of your trusted devices.

When logging in from a new device, Fortnite’s two-factor authentication will require you to verify your identity by entering a code sent to one of the following:

  • Your Email
  • Your Phone via SMS
  • Your Authenticator App

This means unless someone has access to your email or phone, they will not be able to log in to your account.

Additionally, if a hacker makes it as far as needing the second code, you will be notified straight away. In this event, you should change your password as soon as possible.
