How to Fix Battlefield 2042 Mouse Not Working Issue – December 2021

If your mouse isn’t working in Battlefield 2042, chances are you need to follow this guide to fix it.

Battlefield 2042 just released its third major update, and things aren’t going so well. Not only are some players unable to find their way into a server any longer, but others are losing control of their mouse altogether.

Already, DICE is confirming that it’s working on a fix for the ‘Unable to Load Persistence Data’ problem. But when it comes to getting your mouse to track horizontal input, you’ll have to do the legwork yourself.

Right now, there’s a reason why Battlefield 2042’s player count just hit a new low. And although the Battlefield 2042 Update 3 patch notes show that change is coming – the new update is all but unplayable.

Battlefield 2042 Update Breaks Mouse Horizontal Input

The update has only just gone live and already Battlefield 2042 players are reporting that their mouse won’t track horizontal inputs.

Even if you’re one of the players who can actually load into a server right now, it appears all is not well for PC users. New reports from fans indicate that the mouse no longer works as intended in Battlefield 2042.

Thankfully, there’s a fix that might get you back in action before too long. But it’ll require you to put in some work yourself.

How to Fix Battlefield 2042 Mouse Problem

An official solution to the problem by Battlefield Direct Communication on Twitter is to restore the game’s default settings.

  • To fix your Battlefield 2042 mouse, head into My Documents > Battlefield 2042 > Settings and delete the PROFSAVE files.
  • This will reset all your in-game settings and should get your mouse working again.

However, if you want to reset just your mouse settings, some fans have reported the following method working too:

  • Head into My Documents > Battlefield 2042 > Settings.
  • Open PROFSAVE_profile with Notepad.
  • Find GstKeyBinding.infantry.ConceptYaw.
  • Delete all of the lines and save file.

Some players are even reporting success with resetting their keybindings in-game, which is a simple method to try.

With issues like this cropping up, it’s no shock that Battlefield 2042 players don’t think the game will be fixed for a long time.

And already, Battlefield 2042’s player count is hitting an all-time low on Steam, suggesting that all is not well.

Right now, both Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone are dying, leaving only All Out Warfare in an active state.

And until the biggest problems with Battlefield 2042 get addressed, we can’t see things changing anytime soon.
