Here’s how to evolve Quaxly, the Water-type starter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, into Quaxwell and Quaquaval!
Quaxly has been a popular pick for Pokemon fans as their Scarlet and Violet starter. However, if you want to continue to use it later on in the game, you’ll want to level it up and evolve it.
Luckily, evolving Quaxly into Quaxwell and Quaquaval is pretty simple!
How to Evolve Quaxly into Quaxwell
To evolve Quaxly into Quaxwell in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to get your Quaxly to level 16.
As soon as you reach level 16 with your Quaxly, it will automatically evolve into Quaxwell. This mid-evolution is a lot taller than Quaxly but has very similar features on the whole.
If you want to evolve it as fast as possible, make sure to take part in plenty of battles with your Quaxly. It is also worth using the new Picnic system in Scarlet and Violet to raise your friendship with Quaxly as it’ll boost the amount of EXP it earns.
Of course, don’t forget to then evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval! This is Quaxly’s final evolution.
How to Evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
To evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to reach level 36 with your Quaxwell.
Once you have reached level 36, it will automatically evolve into Quaquaval. This will take a while but it is worth it considering the pretty drastic transformation it makes!
Quaquaval is a Water/Fighting-type Pokemon, unlike Quaxly and Quaxwell which are pure Water-type.
The other two starter Pokemon have final forms that may be even better than Quaquaval though. Here are all of the Scarlet and Violet starter evolutions so you can decide for yourself!
