While Greavard’s adorable presence is appreciated in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, making it evolve can be a little tricky if you don’t know what you’re doing. Fortunately, we’re here to help you.

Greavard was introduced to Pokemon fans with a video of it draining the life out of a trainer. And yet, fans somehow find it in their hearts to absolutely adore this ghost dog.

However, if you want to see its scruffier evolution, you’ll need to follow a few easy steps. Trust us, it is worth it.

Greavard isn’t the only new Gen 9 Pokemon to win over the hearts of fans. In fact, fans have fallen head over heels for a weird new Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

How Do You Evolve Greavard into Houndstone?

To evolve Greavard into Houndstone in Scarlet and Violet, players will need to get it to level 30 at nighttime.

If it isn’t nighttime when it reaches level 30, Greavard won’t evolve at all. Fortunately, it will still evolve at level 31 and above, so long as it is nighttime.

You can check if it is nighttime by opening your map with Y and looking at the top icon. If it is a moon, then you’ll know it is nighttime.

You may need to pay attention as you explore these areas, however, as Greavard tends to bury itself beneath the snow and earth. Look for a candle sticking out of the ground to find and catch one.

Where to Find Houndstone in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Houndstone can be caught in the North Eastern regions of Paldea, specifically in North Province (Area One) and the Eastern side of Glaseado Mountain.

However, you can also find it in the bottom left side of the map, near Alfornada and South Province (Area Six).

Much like Greavards, Houndstones tend to bury themselves underground. This time you’ll be looking for a small gravestone peeking out of the earth.

While you’re near Alfornada catching a Houndstone, you should try and catch yourself a Rockruff and learn how to evolve it into a powerful Lycanroc.
