Applin continues its trend of being the apple of a thousand evolutions, as its evolved form Dipplin can now evolve into Hydrapple in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet!

In The Indigo Disk, our rival Kieran has a new powerful ace up his sleeve, in the form of Hydrapple.

This new Dipplin evolution builds off The Teal Mask’s new Candy Apple Pokemon and gives it one final form – one that’s incredibly powerful!

How to Evolve Dipplin Into Hydrapple

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Dipplin will evolve into Hydrapple when it levels up while knowing the move Dragon Cheer.

Teaching Dipplin Dragon Cheer in Pokemon Scarlet Violet

Dragon Cheer is a new move introduced in The Indigo Disk DLC for Scarlet & Violet, which increases the Critical Hit ratio of allies by one stage, or two if the ally Pokemon is a Dragon-Type.

To get your very own Hydrapple, simply evolve Applin into Dipplin using a Syrupy Apple, teach it Dragon Cheer using a TM, then level it up once to cause it to evolve into Hydrapple.

So far, this is only possible in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s DLC: The Indigo Disk. This is because the new Dragon Cheer TM is only given to you in the latest expansion.

However, players can trade the Pokemon with trainers who only own the base game of Scarlet & Violet, so it’s not impossible to obtain for those who don’t own the DLC.

How to Get Dragon Cheer

When players defeat the Elite 4 member Drayton in the BB League, he will give them the Dragon Cheer TM as a prize.

Where to Get Dragon Cheer

After this point, trainers will be able to craft the TM an infinite number of times from the TM Machine, so long as they have the following materials:

  • 1500 LP
  • Tatsugiri Scales x 2
  • Lapras Teardrop x 2
  • Applin Juice x 1
