How Can I Craft TMs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

You can craft TMs at Pokemon Centers in Scarlet and Violet by interacting with the Technical Machine Machine. This is the green machine located on the left section of the Pokemon Centers.

  • Visit a Pokemon Center and interact with the Technical Machine Machine.
  • Select the option “I want a TM made” by pressing the “A” button.

  • Browse the list* and find the TM that you want to craft. You can use “L” and “R” to navigate TMs by type.
    • Here, you will also see the materials and League Points required to craft it in the lower left corner.
    • Also, you can see on the left side of the screen which Pokemon in your party can learn the selected TM.
  • If you have enough materials, the TM will have a green “Craftable” icon. Select the TM to craft it.

*Pro-Tip: If you do not have the materials for a TM you are interested in crafting, you can press “+” to add it to your watchlist.

What Do I Need to Craft TMs?

In order to craft a TM, you will need enough crafting materials and League Points to match the required resources for that specific TM.

You can locate the specific required resources for the TM you want in the lower right corner when selecting it on the Technical Machine Machine.

How Can I Get Crafting Materials?

You can obtain Crafting Materials by battling or catching Pokemon. Each material is named after the Pokemon that drops it.

An example of this naming convention is Digletts dropping Digglett Dirt and Psyducks dropping Psyduck Down.

How Can I Get League Points?

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet you can obtain League Points in the following ways:

  • Defeating Gym Leaders
  • Participating in Tera Raid Battles
