The new legendary Pokemon in the Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC, Ogerpon, can change its form using unique masks.

However, it may not be immediately obvious to players how to change its form or what changing its form actually does.

Below, we explain everything you need to know about changing Ogerpon’s form, every form it can change into, and how they affect it.

How to Change Ogerpon’s Form in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

You change Ogerpon’s form by giving it one of the three masks found in your bag’s Other Items section. These masks are:

• Wellspring Mask
• Hearthflame Mask
• Cornerstone Mask

When equipped with one of these masks, there will be a short transformation cutscene, after which Ogerpon will have transformed.

To give your Ogerpon a new mask, follow these instructions:

• Open up the menu by pressing X
• Select Bag
• Press Right on the D-Pad 4 times until you reach Other Items
• Scroll down until you find the mask you want
• Press A and then select Give to Pokemon
• Select Ogerpon

You can change Ogerpon’s form at any time (outside of battle) by simply removing the mask it currently has and giving it a new one.

If it isn’t holding any mask, Ogerpon will revert back to its default Teal Mask form.

How Many Forms Does Ogerpon Have?

Ogerpon has 4 unique forms in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC. They are:

• Teal Mask
• Wellspring Mask
• Hearthflame Mask
• Cornerstone Mask

The default form is the Teal Mask, with the additional 3 forms giving the legendary Pokemon an additional type on top of its base Grass type. For example, the Wellspring Mask form makes Ogerpon a Grass and Water type.

Every Ogerpon Mask Ability

Each Ogerpon mask changes its type, ability, and Terastallized ability effect. Here is how each Ogerpon form affects it:

• Teal Mask
  • Type: Grass
  • Tera Type: Grass
  • Ability: Defiant
    • Pokemon raises its Attack stat by two stages whenever its stats are lowered. It doesn’t work if it lowers its own stats.
  • Terastallized Ability: Embody Aspect
    • Its Speed stat is boosted.

• Wellspring Mask
  • Type: Grass/Water
  • Tera Type: Water
  • Ability: Water Absorb
    • If the Pokemon is hit by a Water move, it takes no damage, and its HP is replenished by 1/4 of its maximum health.
  • Terastallized Ability: Embody Aspect
    • Its Special Defense stat is boosted.

• Hearthflame Mask
  • Type: Grass/Fire
  • Tera Type: Fire
  • Ability: Mold Breaker
    • The Pokemon ignores all abilities that affect its moves.
  • Terastallized Ability: Embody Aspect
    • Its Attack stat is boosted.

• Cornerstone Mask
  • Type: Grass/Rock
  • Tera Type: Rock
  • Ability: Sturdy
    • The Pokemon cannot be defeated in one hit.
  • Terastallized Ability: Embody Aspect
    • Its Defense stat is boosted.
