The only way to catch the shiny version of Mew in Pokemon GO is through the All-in-One #151 Masterwork Research Story.

After completing step 3 of All-in-One #151, players will get an encounter with shiny Mew as a reward.

This Masterwork Research was only available to players who bought the ticket for this Research back in 2021 during Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto. However, it is returning to the store during the Pokemon GO 7th Anniversary Party event.

The ticket for the All-in-One #151 Masterwork Research will be on sale once again from 10 AM local time on July 6 to 8 PM local time on July 12, 2023.

Can You Get Shiny Mew For Free?

Unfortunately, free-to-play trainers cannot get the shiny version of Mew in Pokemon GO.
