Amazon may be the world’s largest online retailer, but you’ll still need some help to buy a PS5, Xbox Series X, or Nintendo Switch OLED.
For whatever reason, Amazon isn’t as big of a presence in the restock game as you would think. Although Amazon does stock the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch OLED, it’s far from the best place to find a restock.
However, when drops do go live, they’re often at least significant ones. Perhaps the retailer simply believes that the console rush is more trouble than it’s worth right now.
And with next-gen stock issues continuing into 2022, it could be right!
There are even rumors of a PS5 Pro arriving just a year later, in 2023, which is sure to annoy new buyers if true.
Switch OLED, Xbox Series X & PS5 Amazon Restock Tips
Amazon should be one of the best places to get a Nintendo Switch OLED, Xbox Series X, or PS5, and we’ve got some tips to help you buy them.
Create an Amazon Account Early
The first and most obvious tip we can give you is that you make sure your Amazon account is ready to go when it’s restock time. That means your account needs to have up-to-date payment information and an address ready as your default shipping location.
This seems like a simple step, but ensure that you’re ready and signed in as Amazon PS5 restocks sell out in record time!
Use Your Lists
As it turns out, adding a product to your Amazon lists will allow you to easily purchase it when in stock. Instead of Adding to Cart and checking out from there, simply select Add to List and then cart it from your Lists instead.
When using your Lists you’ll have far fewer issues getting the product carted. And this simple tip makes Amazon the easiest way to get a PS5, Xbox Series X, or Switch OLED.
Amazon App vs Browser
When it comes to Amazon’s app, you might have luck making use of a mobile device. However, a web browser is also worth your time.
Using both methods at once, it’s sometimes possible to add the Nintendo Switch OLED, PS5, or Xbox to your cart and then checkout on the second device!
Keep Trying and Be Patient
The number one tip we can give you with Amazon is to be patient. Buying a next-gen console or Switch OLED is a stressful time, and many gamers give up at the first Out of Stock they see.
But as people leave the site, it becomes easier for others to buy the consoles without issue. Speaking from experience, we purchased a PS5 a whole hour later than Amazon’s initial drop!
Remain cool and keep trying.
Watch Out for Resellers
Unfortunately, Amazon is one of those sites that allows resellers to host products on its own store. Make sure you’re buying only Amazon’s own PS5, Xbox Series X, or Nintendo Switch OLED consoles.
Otherwise, you’ll be paying a hefty extra fee just to secure the bag!
