How Many Routes Are There in Fire Emblem Engage?

There is only one route to progress through in Fire Emblem Engage. Unlike previous Fire Emblem titles, Fire Emblem Engage doesn’t have a branching narrative.

The story is far more linear in this latest iteration in the Fire Emblem series and follows the same cast of characters from start to finish.

While you’ll only have one route to play through, that doesn’t mean that Fire Emblem Engage won’t take you a surprising amount of time to beat.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the previous game in the Fire Emblem franchise, had four routes, with an additional fifth route added in the DLC.

Similarly, Fire Emblem Fates had three different routes to go through, giving players a sense of choice when it came to progressing the story.

This doesn’t mean that Fire Emblem Engage doesn’t have choices. In fact, you’ll be able to make multiple choices throughout your adventure.

However, the choices you make in Fire Emblem Engage are predominantly focused on your relationships with party members and unlocking hidden scenes with them.

You will also find this reflected in how many endings Fire Emblem Engage has, which may disappoint fans expecting a little more.

This is likely to upset fans who enjoyed the more story-heavy focus of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its high level of replayability.

Fire Emblem Engage offers a more definitive tactics experience while cutting back on the narrative aspects that defined Three Houses. So, it is no surprise that the multiple routes and stories from that game are absent.

Of course, that doesn’t mean reviewers aren’t enjoying this latest Fire Emblem title. In fact, the reviews paint quite a positive picture of Fire Emblem Engage.
