Should You Pick Explorer or Guided Mode in Horizon Forbidden West?

What is Explorer Mode?

Explorer mode is definitely the option to pick if you love immersion in games or just want to fully take in the gorgeous environments. This is because there will be less HUD obstruction than on Guided mode.

However, players who select Explorer won’t have any on-screen waypoint markers to help. Instead, they’ll have to use markers on their compass at the top of the screen to navigate.

Therefore, even if the game may look nicer on Explorer mode, you may walk by some of Horizon Forbidden West’s secrets.

Just make sure you don’t pass the missable Horizon Forbidden trophy, whatever you do!

What is Guided Mode?

Meanwhile, Guided mode is perfect for Horizon Forbidden West players who are new to open-world games or gamers who just don’t like wasting any time!

This option will give you an on-screen waypoint marker in addition to highlighting key objects and paths back to the nearest road. There’s no getting lost in the vast Horizon Forbidden West map when using this setting!

However, Guided mode still won’t reveal all of the door and console codes in Horizon Forbidden West.
