If you want to get off to the best start possible in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll need to learn how to reroll your account.
HoYoverse fans are sure to be familiar with the term rerolling, as it has been possible in previous titles such as Genshin Impact. The idea behind the strategy is to ‘reroll’ your luck, allowing you to take the game’s initial free Warps multiple times in the hopes of getting a better character roster.
If you’ve got your eyes on one of Honkai: Star Rail’s playable characters and you have to have them right away – you’ll need to learn to reroll.
What Is Rerolling in Honkai: Star Rail?
Rerolling in Honkai: Star Rail is the act of starting fresh on a brand-new account and grinding the early game to get all the free Warps possible.
In this way, players are able to take advantage of the generous initial rewards that the game provides and use them for the best shot at unlocking a fan-favorite character.
Players may choose to reroll immediately for another shot at the Departure Warp gacha, which is limited to 50 pulls but offers a 20% discount and a guaranteed 5-Star character.

They could also choose to spend their efforts on the Stellar Warp, saving the benefits of the Beginner Banner for later in the game.
Don’t forget that it’s also possible to choose one 5-Star character for free, once per account!
Rerolling is a lengthy process that will require players to complete the tutorial each time before unlocking the ability to Warp. Here’s how it’s done:
How to Reroll in Honkai: Star Rail
- First, to reroll your Warps, players are going to need to make a second Honkai: Star Rail account.
- Unfortunately for those that play multiple HoYoverse games, this means you may not have all your titles tied to the same account.
- As part of the Honkai: Star Rail pre-registration rewards, all players will get access to 20 Star Rail Passes near the beginning of the game, regardless if their account pre-registered.
- Players will also receive Trailblaze Level Rewards at Levels 5/15/25/35 which grant up to 40 Star Rail Passes and 1600 Stellar Jade.
- Play the game until you meet Asta and get the ability to Warp. Your next mission should give you the Travel Log and your pre-registration rewards.
- At this point, use Embers in the Embers Exchange to purchase additional Star Rail Passes.
- Once Warps are unlocked, players should use up all their Star Rail Passes to see what they can unlock.
- If the results aren’t to their liking (didn’t get the 5-Star character they wanted), players can then repeat the process indefinitely with new accounts.
If players want to reroll multiple times, they will want to get to at least Level 5 for 10 bonus chances at obtaining their favorite character.
Stellar Warp (Standard) vs Departure Warp (Beginner)
Players that want to get two 5-Star characters early in the game would be better using their Warps in Stellar Warp, as the Departure Warp will guarantee a 5 Star within 50 rolls.
Thanks to the Honkai: Star Rail Pity system, players looking to get multiple 5-Star characters would be better off rolling Stellar Warps so as to not reset their Pity too early.

Rolling 300 Warps on the Standard Banner will also give you a free 5-Star character of your choice but that will take quite some time. It isn’t something that’s attainable during a single reroll attempt.
However, those looking to get a single 5-Star character as fast as possible would definitely be better off using their Warps in Departure Warp (AKA the Beginner Banner)
Is It Worth It to Reroll in Honkai: Star Rail?
Ultimately, it can be worth it to reroll your account in Honkai: Star Rail if you want to have a strong early game experience and get one of the featured launch characters.
However, rerolling requires making an entirely new account each time, and progressing in the game until you unlock the ability to roll for Warps.
According to early reports, this process takes around 40 minutes, and slightly longer if you want to hit Level 5 for the additional Warps.

Dialogue cannot be skipped, meaning that you’ll need to spend quite some time to reroll even once. For all but the most hardcore fans, we’d say that it’s not worth it to reroll in Honkai: Star Rail.
