Jingliu Reveal – Honkai Star Rail ‘A Flash’ Animated Short
In Honkai: Star Rail’s first post-launch animated short, HoYoverse gives fans a glimpse into the backstory of the game’s next character, Jing Yuan.
In it, we are introduced to a never-seen-before warrior, Jing Yuan’s master: Jingliu.
Who Is Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail?
Jingliu was the former master of Jing Yuan, the current general of the Xianzhou Alliance’s Cloud Knights. She trained Jing Yuan from a young age, shaping him into a powerful warrior.
When her own master became stricken by Mara and fell into madness, Jingliu struck down her instructor in an instant, instructing Jing Yuan not to hesitate should the same ever happen to her.
In the Year 7380 Star Calendar, Jingliu also became stricken by Mara, and slashed her way through dozens of Cloud Knights sent to subdue her.
With her powerful ice abilities, she left many knights frozen in place, until only Jing Yuan stood before her.
Recognizing her inner pain, Jing Yuan took down his former master, just as Jingliu had instructed him.
Now, centuries on, the new general recalls Jingliu’s teachings, as he instructs the new generation of Cloud Knight recruits.

Jingliu Release Date in Honkai: Star Rail
According to leakers, Jingliu will be playable via the trial mode in the 1.1 update for Honkai: Star Rail. This update is expected to arrive on approximately June 7, 2023.
However, the character may not arrive in Warps until a much later update.
