Yes, Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe (or Digital Deluxe) Edition is worth the price for the 3 days of early access alone. However, once February 10 rolls around the Deluxe Edition will be far less valuable to all but the keenest Harry Potter fans.
The Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition retails for $79.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or $69.99 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This is $10 higher than the Standard Edition of the game on all platforms.
Here’s what you get for the price:
- Copy of Hogwarts Legacy
- Thestral Mount
- Dark Arts Cosmetic Pack
- Dark Arts Battle Arena
- 72-hour early access to the game, beginning February 7 (Only for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, & PC)
- Dark Arts Garrison Hat (Digital Deluxe Only)
- Cross-Gen Upgrade (Digital Deluxe Only)
In addition, ANY PlayStation version of Hogwarts Legacy also includes an exclusive quest set in Hogsmeade!
Pre-ordering the Deluxe or Collector’s Edition of Hogwarts Legacy will also allow players to get their hands on the Onyx Hippogriff Mount. This Fantastic Beast will be rideable on both the ground and in the air, but only for those who purchase the game before launch.

Hogwarts Legacy’s ‘Early Access’
It’s worth noting Hogwarts Legacy’s more expensive editions are being handled rather differently from most AAA releases. Even physical Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe or Collector Edition owners will get 3 days of early access before the standard game goes on sale.
And although you’re really paying not to get the game late, rather than paying to get the game early, 72 hours of early access is probably worth the extra money.

The additional cosmetics certainly won’t be game-changing but one bit of bonus content certainly sounds interesting. The Dark Arts Battle Arena adds a new, exclusive PvE challenge to the game, and it allows you to instantly use all 3 Unforgivable Curses!
Of course, you can still get your hands on all 3 spells in-game yourself, but this way you don’t need to become a Dark Witch or Wizard in Hogwarts Legacy to try them out.
Once Hogwarts Legacy is officially released on February 10, on the other hand, the Deluxe Edition won’t be quite so valued. And paying $10 less to skip a few cosmetic additions might appeal to a fair few Potter fans when early access is no more.
