Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy Delayed Until 2022

One of 2021's most anticipated games has been delayed until 2022.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy is the first open-world RPG ever released in the Harry Potter universe and fans quickly threw their support behind it.

Game publisher and developer Warner Bros. Games and PortKey Games announced Happy Potter Hogwarts Legacy back in September in the PS5 showcase.

The trailer quickly became one of the fastest viewed game announcements of all time, gathering nearly 10 million views in 24 hours.

Despite this early hype and traction, fans will have to wait at least another year to play it.

Hogwarts Legacy Delayed Until at least 2022

To the disappointment of fans worldwide, the game's developer formerly delayed it until 2022.

While it may be disappointing for fans of Harry Potter and of RPGs, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Hogwarts Legacy is taking an approach similar to what Cyberpunk 2077 did early on in its development, which delayed its release multiple times to avoid as many bugs and issues as possible.

The official announcement said the main reason for delay is to create the best possible experience for the wizarding world and its players.

Immediately following this news, gaming influencers quickly threw their support behind the decision to postpone.

What We Know About The Game So Far

While the game is delayed for at least another year, fans already confirmed multiple explorable areas in Hogwarts Legacy.

Of course, the Hogwarts castle is the main focus of the game. However, other influenial areas to the franchise will also be settings of various quests and explorations.

The Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade, Azkaban, and Gringotts Bank have been confirmed to be explorable locations.

Happy Potter Hogwarts Legacy will be available in 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
