Hardcore Mode Confirmed To Be Returning to MW2

Infinity Ward has confirmed that Hardcore is returning to MW2 via its official Twitter account. The Hardcore mode will be released alongside the Season 2 update for MW2 & Warzone 2.

Season 2 for MW2 and Warzone 2 has been promised to feature changes that the community has asked for. Hardcore is one of the most popular modes in Call of Duty and while Tier 1 is in the game, it is not quite the same.

The release of MW2 Season 2 is not too far away. Hardcore fans are sure to be excited to play this game mode once again.

The MW2 & Warzone 2 developer has also already confirmed other changes coming to the game. These include the return of the 1v1 Gulag as well as updates to the Warzone looting system.

What Is Hardcore & How Is It Different From Tier 1?

Hardcore is a Multiplayer format that features no HUD and lowered health. While Tier 1 also contains both of these, there are some big differences.

For one, Tier 1 does not have a kill confirmation or a kill feed implemented making it hard to know when you eliminate an enemy.

There are also no hit markers. This makes it even more difficult to tell if you are accurately firing your shots.

These additions were controversial amongst the community with Tier 1 resembling a Realism mode rather than Hardcore.

In the week starting January 23, 2023, Infinity Ward will be releasing a blog post that will go more in-depth on Hardcore.

The developers of MW2 appear to be listening to feedback from its player base, so it will be interesting to see if Season 2 will also tackle the major issues with Multiplayer according to fans.

Also coming in the next major update is a new feature that will make competitive players happy!
