Halo Infinite Has Major Lag & Desync Problems After Season 2 ‘Melee Fix’

Halo Infinite players are still being annoyed by lag and desync issues when attacking players up close despite the Season 2 update including a major melee fix!

Halo Infinite Season 2 has been out for a week and it has brought loads of new content. However, it isn’t all good news.

Despite players enjoying the great new multiplayer maps and the diverse variety of Season 2 game modes, Halo Infinite still has a few major problems.

The Season 2 update aimed to fix a number of prominent issues including an updated Battle Pass progression system and Item Shop changes. Plus, players were eager to see how the improved melee would work in-game.

Unfortunately, after a week of playing, Halo Infinite fans are still not happy with the melee system!

Desync & Lag are Still Ruining Melee in Halo Infinite Season 2

Back in March, players thought Halo Infinite’s desync was worse than ever and developer 343 Industries attempted to address this in the Season 2 update for the game. However, it still seems to be a major problem.

A new post on the Halo subreddit shows how frustrating melee still is in Halo Infinite. At the time of writing, over 1600 people have upvoted it, showing that this is a very common problem.

Despite the player having wired internet, his melee attacks did no damage when they seemed to have connected with an enemy. This happened in multiple matches too so it wasn’t just a one-off occurrence where the servers weren’t working properly.

In fact, players in the replies claim that the Season 2 update has made melee hits registering even less reliable!

To make this melee issue even more frustrating, Halo Infinite is giving players loads of difficult melee challenges in Season 2.

It’s not known why players are still suffering from lag and desync when trying to melee in Halo Infinite. Hopefully, developer 343 Industries addresses this issue once again in an upcoming update.

The developer is already working hard fixing the gun jamming glitch in Halo Infinite though. Therefore, another patch to improve melee could be a long way off.

Plus, 343 is also getting all of the upcoming Halo Infinite Season 2 events ready:
