A recent image from the Epic Games blog has teased the long-awaited return of the Guided Missile in Fortnite’s upcoming season.
Fortnite is no stranger to vaulting and unvaulting items. Plenty of weapons and more get removed from the current loot pool or added back regularly.
Sometimes they return for most of a season, or occasionally they’ll come back for special events like the Fire with Fire Week.
There are a few fan-favorite weapons that haven’t seen the light of Fortnite’s day in many years. One such item is the Guided Missile, which could be returning after almost four years of being in the vault.
Guided Missile Could Be Coming Back in Fortnite Paradise
A recent Fortnite blog post image shares what looks to be a Guided Missile projectile clearly visible.
The Guided Missile was vaulted in the 7.30 patch for Fortnite, back in January 2019. This means it’s been over three and a half years since it was last seen in-game.
The launcher works as the name implies. Players would fire a rocket, similar to any normal projectile, and be able to control it after it is shot. While controlling the missile, players would be unable to move their character.
While the Guided Missile itself didn’t deal huge damage, it was one of the best items in Fortnite simply because of how fun it was.
Players could ride the Guided Missile into enemy structures if they planned it well enough, as well as use it to save downed teammates from the storm.
It remains to be seen whether the item will see drastic changes before it comes back, if at all. However, we hope to see this great weapon return.
That’s not the only thing returning though, as Fortnite’s Fortnitemares event is set to come back for 2022.
