GTA 6 rumors have been non-existent for the past few months, at least we thought so. A post made on Pastebin, from an anonymous source who claims to be a third party small developer from Europe, may have leaked the GTA 6 release date/window, in addition to Grand Theft Auto 6 supposedly releasing as a one month exclusive on PS5 and the game’s heavily speculated location.
From the beginning, these apparently leaked details have been deemed highly dubious. For one, Rockstar Games are yet to provide any information whatsoever on the upcoming installment within the franchise. Secondly, while the information has surfaced from an anonymous source, there is no indication as to what their track record is like or whether they are even telling the truth.
GTA 6 Release Date Rumored
Rockstar Games is set to most likely release GTA 6 in the Holiday season of 2020, as per the post. This aspect of the rumor, in particular, at least doesn’t seem too farfetched, while it lines up with other information out there and provides just about enough time for the game to be developed in full.
On the other hand, it would be a little strange for Rockstar Games to produce GTA 6 less than two years after the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA 6 Location/Setting Rumored
According to the anonymous leaker, GTA 6 will be taking place in both Miami and New York City. Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, this rumor proves to be legitimate, it’s unclear as to how Rockstar Games will implement two major locations into one title.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Timed Exclusivity on PS5 Rumored
In addition to both the GTA 6 setting and release date, the leaker also claims to have details regarding the game’s timed exclusivity on PlayStation 5.
As per the Pastebin post, PlayStation players will be able to exclusively get their hands on GTA 6 one month prior to other platforms. Most notably and unsurprisingly, Sony has apparently offered Take-Two Interactive a plethora of cash in a bid for the timed exclusivity.
We must mention that this seems rather farfetched. It would be a privilege for any Rockstar Games employee to receive details on the upcoming addition to the franchise, let alone a third party developer. Further, finer details of a game of this colossal scale usually stay under wraps.
Therefore, for one individual to know a ton of details regarding GTA 6 has raised a few eyebrows. We advise fans to take this rumor with the utmost of skepticism. If this scoop happened to be entirely accurate it would certainly be one of the stories of the year, however.
This rumor appears to be a little too beyond belief to win us over, either way, time will tell. What are your thoughts on GTA 6 releasing 30 days prior to other platforms on PS5?
