Rockstar might be teasing the reveal of GTA 6's map location in a recent update to GTA Online. Here's where we think the next installment will be taking place.
Rockstar Games have not officially announced they are working on GTA 6, however, an insider has confirmed that GTA 6 is currently in development.
There are rumors floating around regarding the next installment and just where the game's location will be set.
Interestingly, Rockstar might have given up the gun already with a few hints that have made their way to GTA Online.
It's not surprising considering that earlier this year, a GTA 6 teaser was discovered in an update trailer. It might not be long before Rockstar Games unveil their plans for the next GTA installment.
GTA 6 Map Location Revealed?
GTA 6's map location may have been teased through a recent update to GTA Online. According to some rumors, the next game location could be a return to a previous setting in the franchise's history.
GTA has always featured memorable maps based on real-world locations, such as Liberty City (New York) and Los Santos (Los Angeles).
One of the most beloved locations for GTA fans could be making a return soon. Here's what we've managed to uncover.
The first easter egg which has been added to GTA Online is a free jacket, which might seem like an odd clue.
Why is this jacket relevant you might ask? Well, it was awarded to players back in November for their participation in the 100 Billion Heist Challenge.
Although it might look totally inconspicuous at first, it's only until you notice what's written on the back, that gives us a hint about GTA 6.
The back of the jacket includes a phrase that says "Hostes Ad Pulverem Ferire." Don't worry, you don't need to learn Latin to understand where we are going with this.
This particular phrase is important because it appears on the front of a government building in GTA Vice City.
Therefore, this could be the first hint regarding where GTA 6's map location will take place.
GTA 6 - Vice City
It might seem like flimsy evidence to suggest that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City based off of one jacket.
However, there are more hints that could suggest this might actually be the case.
In the latest Cayo Perico update, GTA 5's biggest update, players also noticed that a new character was added into the game.
Interestingly, some fans have suggested that this is another hint to GTA 6's map location.
The character, Gustavo appears to be an inconspicuous character. However, what is telling is the fact he dons a familiar white and orange Hawaiian shirt.
It is almost eerily reminiscent of Gonzalez from GTA Vice City. It could just be a coincidence, but Rockstar Games are notorious for their subtly with easter eggs.
When you look at these references together, and given their frequency, it could be hinting towards GTA 6's map location.
It could be that the next GTA game is closer than we think. A new leak has revealed details regarding the game's protagonist, and it might surprise you.
Another leak has suggested that a major upgrade is inbound for the expanded and enhanced edition on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.
Rumors have suggested that it might be running on the Red Dead Redemption 2 game engine. As a result, the switch may lead to better visuals and performance for GTA 5.
Finally, if you are enjoying GTA Online, don't forget to pick your freebies in the latest update, including a free submarine upgrade.
