GTA 5 PS5 Port Delayed – Won’t Release in 2021, New Trailer Suggests

It looks like GTA 5's PS5 port may be delayed after a new trailer fails to shed light on the game's release date.

GTA 5 was one of the first games to be announced for next-gen, yet it's something we've heard little about.

We know that GTA 5 will be coming to both PS5 and Xbox Series X eventually, but Rockstar is keeping quiet on exactly when the game will arrive.

Now, fans are suspicious of a delay announcement, thanks to a new trailer that fails to mention a release date.

And the blame could be on Rockstar's older game remasters that are rumored to be coming soon.

GTA 5: Expanded and Enhanced Next-Gen Version Delayed?

Although GTA V is playable on next-gen consoles right now, the expanded and enhanced port was going to drop in 2021. Originally, Rockstar revealed the game would be coming in the second half of 2021.

We also know that the plan is for PS5 to have exclusive access to GTA Online for 3 months. We also know from a leak that the game is getting a massive upgrade on next-gen consoles.

However, fans now suspect that this initial 2021 release date is no longer on the cards. In a recent PS5 State of Play event, a new trailer for GTA 5 no longer had a release date.

Instead, the trailer simply promises that GTA 5 for PS5 is in development. It wasn't long before users began to predict that the game isn't likely to be ready for the upcoming release date.

This is particularly frustrating, given that GTA V is a game that first released back in 2013. Although Rockstar is likely hard at work preparing the game for the powerful new systems, it's taking longer than expected.

And this doesn't give us much faith in hearing more about GTA 6 soon either.

"If this is true, I wouldn't expect GTA 6 coming before 2024," one Reddit user writes.

Of course, there's no word from Rockstar just yet as to whether GTA 5 is actually getting a delay. We'll just have to wait on further details as they drop.

Recently, we had a new major leak regarding the GTA 6 protagonist and location. A second GTA 6 leak reveals details about the game's story, ahead of any official word from the developers.

What's more, it looks like GTA Online is getting a major overhaul with GTA 6, whenever that game finally releases. At this point, we're just waiting anxiously to hear more about the upcoming game, no matter what Rockstar wants to reveal.
