God of War Officially Coming to PC – Release Date, Price & More

It looks like God of War is coming to PC, as the acclaimed title appears on the Steam database.

Recently, Sony is making more of an effort to engage with PC gamers. We’ve had titles such as Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn finally come to PC in recent months, and now it seems that God of War will soon join them.

With the recent reveal of Uncharted games coming to PC, it seems that’s not all Sony has in store for Steam fans this financial year.

Although no official announcement has been made, it didn’t take long for the gaming community to notice God of War appearing on Steam’s database. And now, Sony is making the announcement official.

We’re not too shocked by the reveal though. After all, this major leak revealed God of War was coming to PC back in September.

God of War PC Port Coming to Steam in January 2022

It seems that a God of War PC port is finally coming to Steam on January 14, 2022.

According to a new PlayStation blog, Santa Monica Studio’s acclaimed title will finally arrive on PC next year. That means it will release in the same year as its direct sequel, likely causing an influx of new fans who couldn’t previously access the game.

With Sony acquiring a new studio that specializes in PC ports, we expect to see more games make the jump to PC soon. Perhaps God of War won’t even be the only reveal in our immediate future!

God of War will arrive on Steam on January 14, and will retail for $49.99. It’s a substantial price, seeing as fans believe God of War will be free on PlayStation soon.

God of War PC Improvements

However, it’s worth noting that God of War supports both NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex low latency technology. Santa Monica Studio confirms that the game’s PC port will feature improved resolutions and improved screen space reflections to create a “striking visual quality unique to the platform”.

Of course, you can also expect 4K visuals and unlocked framerates on supported devices!

Today’s announcement comes alongside the news that God of War for PC will come with “robust controller support” for both DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers amongst other gamepads.

Buyers will also gain access to the following digital content alongside their new purchase:

  • Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus
  • Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin
  • Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin
  • Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin
  • Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin

Interestingly, we just found out why God of War Ragnarok was delayed! The real reason behind one of our most anticipated PS5 games of the next few years isn’t as simple as you’d think.

And finally, in case you hadn’t seen – Thor is fat in God of War Ragnarok and gamers aren’t happy about it!
