Pokemon GO players have been waiting for Gimmighoul’s arrival in the game for quite a while now. Luckily, it looks like it is sooner than we thought, according to a new datamine.
Additionally, Pokemon GO players can expect to be able to evolve it into Gholdengo as well!
In case you’re not aware, Gimmighoul and its evolved form Gholdengo were recently introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Despite this, Gimmighoul has already made a brief appearance in Pokemon GO too. Back in November, players spotted Gold PokeStops in Pokemon GO for the first time.
Spinning these shiny stops would give you a mysterious ?????? coin, and cause Gimmighoul to appear and follow you. Although it was impossible to catch at that time, it looks like Gimmighoul and Gholdengo will be coming to Pokemon GO very soon.

Datamining group PokeMiners found that both Gimmighoul and Gholdengo were added in the recent January 24 Pokemon GO update. This follows Niantic confirming that the coin-loving ‘Mon would make its GO Debut in 2023.
As both are in the game’s files, we expect that they will be available in Pokemon GO in the next few weeks. These would be just the latest surprise additions to the game after Kecleon’s long-awaited GO debut, as well as all of the Vivillon patterns now in Pokemon GO!
What’s more, Gimmighoul and Gholdengo would be the first Gen 9 Pokemon to come to the game. Therefore, Niantic will surely add a new Paldea Collector Medal to Pokemon GO too!
In turn, this would pave the way for other Scarlet and Violet additions, like Baxcalibur, Charcadet, and Bellibolt! Or, it could even mean that Paradox Pokemon could arrive in Pokemon GO!
However, expect evolving Gimmighoul into Gholdengo to be tough. We might have to make space on our list of the top 10 rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO for Gholdengo if its evolution method is just as difficult as it is in Scarlet and Violet!
