A new Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima has just been announced, and not only will it be an upgrade for PS5 players, but it will also feature a whole new expansion!
Ghost of Tsushima was one of the best games of 2020. Featuring breathtaking landscapes, intense Samurai duels, and even some Japanese folklore, it’s a game like no other.
Since then, fans have eagerly awaited Jin Sakai’s next adventure, but few would have predicted it would have arrived so soon. Although, a leak hinted that a new Tsushima game was on the way.
Yes, it’s not a full-blown sequel, but the newly announced Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will include the full game, a brand-new expansion, and some great new PS5 features.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut – Iki Island Expansion Details
The headline feature of the Director’s Cut is, of course, the huge Iki Island expansion. This will take Jin to a beautiful island with a new story and new characters.
Sucker Punch hasn’t revealed much about the expansion yet. However, it will feature a hard-hitting story that will force Jin to “relive traumatic moments from his past”.
Expect to hear more about this expansion at the upcoming PlayStation State of Play 2021 event which will reveal loads about upcoming PS5 games.
There will also be some new Ghost Of Tsushima Legends content coming for all players who own the regular or Director’s Cut versions of the game.
Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut – New PS5 Features
The PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will also add extra features to the game. This will include adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, thanks to the PS5 Dualsense controller, as well as improved load times 4k resolution options, and increased frame rate.
Additionally, the Director’s Cut on PS5 will also feature a sync for the Japanese voiceover mode.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Release Date
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be released on August 20 for both PS4 and PS5 and it available to pre-order now.
Additionally, players who already own the game have a number of options to upgrade the standard PS4 version to eh PS4 Director’s Cut or the PS5 Director’s Cut.
