The last content update brought Star Wars back to the Island, as well as more changes in v20.30. And as we lead up to the final event of Chapter 3 Season 2, the latest Patch Notes have given us an idea of what to expect!
Here are all the changes made in the latest update of Fortnite, the v20.40 content update.
All Changes in Fortnite v20.40 – Patch Notes
Here are all of the changes in Fortnite v20.40 via the Patch Notes from Epic Games:
The Resistance has won the Battle for Tilted Towers, making this a new base of operations for the Resistance.
Sideways Weapons are Back for Sideways Showdown
The Sideways Weapons have returned, with the Sideways Showdown Week, which runs from today until May 24, 2022. The weapons that have been unvaulted are the Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun.
These weapons can be found as floor loot or in chests, and can now be upgraded at an Upgrade Bench. There are also Sideways Showdown quests to help you earn extra XP.
Shield Bubbles vs Balloons Vote
You can now vote to keep either one of these returning items to remain in the game, entering the loot pool immediately. Find Funding Stations at any of the POIs and spend Bars on your favorite!
The one that gets the full funding first will remain in the game!
Zero Build Utility Gadget Changes
Last week saw an increase of utility items in Fortnite’s Zero Build mode. And now, the items below have their increased drop rate remaining indefinitely:
- Shockwave Grenades
- Cow Catchers
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S Latency Reduction
Players on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series versions of the game will see a reduction of input latency when in 60 FPS mode. This setting has been enabled by default, but you can turn off Low Input Latency Mode in the settings.
Middle East Server Change
If you have manually selected the Middle East as your server option, it has now changed to Auto. This is for the best experience possible.
Some players who were originally connecting to the Middle East servers will now filter into the Europe or Asia servers.
Players can switch back to the Middle East server, but this may result in a higher ping and a worse experience overall.
These are all of the major changes in the latest Fortnite Patch Notes. Make sure to check out all of the recent leaks for Fortnite v20.40, including a Live Event, The Doomsday Device, and new skins!
Epic Games also announced that PlayStation Support has been added for the Fortnite Wallet with the v20.40 update.
