Fortnite players with a VR headset could soon be seeing the popular Battle Royale game in a new way, according to hints in a recent update.
It’s hard to name a platform that Fortnite isn’t available on. From consoles and PC to mobile, Fortnite players can almost play the game on any device.
However, those who play games on Meta Quest may be wondering whether Epic Games will provide virtual reality support for Fortnite soon.
Well, according to files in a recent update, we could be seeing some VR functions in Fortnite in the near future.
Fortnite Update Teases Virtual Reality Support for Quest Headsets
Found by Fortnite leaker HYPEX, the latest Fortnite update is hinting at VR functionality in the game.
HYPEX, known for being a popular and reliable leaker of Fortnite content, shared the news on his Twitter. His post, simply reads “Epic added stuff related to Oculus (Quest, Quest 2 & Mobile) in today’s update. Most likely proper VR support in the future.”
It’s currently unknown how much support for virtual reality Epic Games will develop for Fortnite. It could range from making Fortnite fully playable in VR, or it could be some Creative experiences that require a VR headset.
However, what is interesting is that HYPEX has been leaking a first-person mode in development and testing for Fortnite. Currently, we don’t know when the mode will release if ever. But it’s reported that it could arrive with Chapter 3 Season 4 of Fortnite.
The support for VR, alongside the first-person mode, could hint at the mode being released alongside the announcement of a Fortnite port to virtual reality.
