The time for rumors and speculation is over! Fortnite OG will officially bring back the Chapter 1 map, beginning on November 3, 2023.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen endless leaks, rumors, and fan predictions around the topic of Chapter 1. Epic Games has been teasing a return to classic Fortnite ever since the start of Chapter 4 Season 4.
After all, the villainous Kado Thorne’s time machine was set to the launch date of Chapter 1 Season 5, and now props from the original Fortnite map are even arriving on the island!
And finally, after weeks of teasing, Epic Games is ready to reveal Fortnite OG.
Fortnite OG Confirms Return of Chapter 1 Map
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 will officially be called Fortnite OG and let players return to the Chapter 1 map.
This upcoming update, which kicks off on November 3, 2023, will see players time travel into the past and experience Fortnite during the iconic early days.
According to the time machine teases, the date we’re heading back to is July 12, 2018. Longtime players may remember this as the release of the original Season 5, so the map won’t be quite as it was on day one.
What’s more, despite us returning to the Chapter 1 map, it appears that movement mechanics won’t go missing during the next season.
Epic Games has confirmed that sprinting and mantling will continue to be present in-game, despite datamines claiming otherwise.
Don’t get too attached to the Fortnite OG map either – as leaks seem to indicate that it will rapidly change as the season goes on, incorporating elements from old seasons as we presumably race forward in time.
However, assuming we are returning to Chapter 1 Season 5, here’s what the map should look like on November 3:
Players also won’t have too much time to enjoy Fortnite OG, as it appears to be the shortest season for the Battle Royale yet. Despite launching in November, leaks report that Chapter 5 Season 1 will be kicking off this December.
