Fortnite just got a brand-new weapon but old-school fans will recognize the MK Alpha as being very similar to the MK7.

If you’re dropping into Fortnite WILDS in Chapter 4 Season 3, you’ll notice a new gun tearing up lobbies – and one-fan favorite missing in action.

Here’s everything you need to know about the MK Alpha Assault Rifle in Fortnite:

Where to Find the MK Alpha Assault Rifle in Fortnite

The new MK-Alpha Assault Rifle is a new common weapon spawn that appears in chests and as ground loot around the Fortnite island.

Players won’t have any trouble finding the new AR, which will spawn all over the map, including in Combat Caches, Vending Machines, and Worthy Item Vaults.

Is the MK Back in Fortnite?

Yes, the MK is back in Fortnite with a few slight tweaks and a new name.

Now known as the MK-Alpha Assault Rifle, this weapon isn’t exactly the MK-7 from Fortnite’s weapon vault, but it’s pretty close all around.

MK-7 vs MK-Alpha Comparison

When compared to the iconic MK-Seven, Fortnite’s new MK-Alpha Assault Rifle hits harder but fires slower.

The new AR also takes longer to reload and has a smaller magazine, all factors that contribute to its slightly lower Damage Per Second (DPS).

It’s clear that the MK Alpha isn’t the return of the MK7 that many were hoping for, but it’s at least a similar weapon and one we’re happy to find when hunting for a gun.

Here’s a direct stats comparison for the two weapons:

Has the Red Eye Assault Rifle Been Vaulted?

Yes, the Red Eye Assault Rifle has now been vaulted in Fortnite, as of June 13, 2023. Instead, the MK-Alpha Assault Rifle takes its place.

If you were a fan of the Red Dot Sight, don’t be too disappointed. The MK-Alpha is a very worthy substitute but it’ll still take some getting used to.
