This teaser came from Fortnite content creator LiaqN, who posted it to their X account, formerly known as Twitter.
While most of the tweet is in Japanese, a piece of English mentions “MidasDrumGun,” almost certainly hinting at this character’s return to the Fortnite world.
Additionally, reliable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has revealed this weapon will be named “Midas’ Drum Gun,” suggesting it will be a Mythic weapon.
Fortnite’s promotion for the upcoming season appears to have been geared at content creators receiving “leaks.”
One of these creators was the YouTuber Lachlan, who claimed to have obtained an image resembling LiaqN’s directly from Fortnite.
Who Is Midas in Fortnite?
Midas is a major antagonist in the lore of Fortnite. He made his initial appearance in Fortnite: Chapter 2, Season 2, as the Tier 100 Legendary Outfit and served as one of the prominent NPC Bosses of that season.
Midas, who established SHADOW and commands GHOST, initiated the Device event to propel the Storm forward.
While Midas was successful, the Storm retaliated by submerging the entire Island in water. Following this incident, in the trailer for Chapter 2 Season 3, there is a video of sharks attacking Midas.
The character’s death was suspected by many due to this series of events, but his body was never discovered.
