There’s a brand-new map making its debut with Fortnite Chapter 4 – here are all the named locations you can discover!
Every time a new season drops, it’s incredibly exciting to look around the island and see what has changed. But when a new Chapter arrives, it’s easier to look for what hasn’t changed!
The Fortnite Chapter 4 map is finally here, and it’s full to the brim of new POIs and named locations to discover. Perhaps Epic Games just couldn’t wait to show us it, and that’s why Chapter 3 ended so suddenly.
Here are all the locations you’ll be able to discover, and where to find them in Fortnite Chapter 4’s new map.
All Named Locations in Fortnite Chapter 4
The new Fortnite Chapter 4 map currently contains the following named locations:
- Anvil Square
- Breakwater Bay
- Brutal Bastion
- Faulty Splits
- Frenzy Fields
- Lonely Labs
- Shattered Slabs
- Slappy Shores
- The Citadel
As well as numerous unnamed POIs. We’ll update this list as more locations arrive on the island throughout the Chapter 4 seasons.
Don’t forget that to discover the new locations you’ll first need to drop in and land at each one – or head to the center of the POI in-game. Only then will the region be uncovered on your Chapter 4 map.
Anvil Square
A peaceful-looking town situated in the heart of a forest, Anvil Square looks like it was taken straight out of The Witcher franchise.

Those who venture here will have plenty of loot to grab, and buildings to explore. There’s also a large watchtower, perfect for laying down fire on those below you.
Here’s how to unlock Geralt The Witcher in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.
Breakwater Bay
Right on the northwest of the Fortnite Chapter 4 island is Breakwater Bay, a small port town with loading docks and piers.

With The Citadel nearby, you can count on some major action in this POI, as many players avert course from the hot drop at the last second.
Brutal Bastion
The headquarters of the Reality Warriors, Brutal Bastion is a large, impenetrable castle, situated on the northeast of the new island.

This castle is surrounded by snow and ice, but a journey into the cold to see what’s hidden within will rarely be a waste of time.
Faulty Splits
Part modern residence, part medieval village, Faulty Splits is an interesting merging of two POIs thanks to the island forming from a number of different realities.

As the two land masses crashed together, the medieval town seems to have pushed the land into forming a cliff face, meaning the name Faulty Splits is quite the accurate description for this POI.
Frenzy Fields
An abandoned piece of farmland, Frenzy Fields is found to the south of the island. Despite not being home to many buildings, there’s plenty of loot to be found, and even more firefights to encounter.

If you’re looking for a new favorite drop that’s a little further from the action, Frenzy Fields could be the place for you.
Lonely Labs
In the cold northeast of the Fortnite map lies Lonely Labs, a POI so isolated that it’s practically on its own island.

With plenty of ice and snow, this research lab closely resembles Frosty Flights, a popular POI from Chapter 1: Season 7.
Shattered Slabs
Shattered Slabs is a marble mine POI on the southwest side of the island. It is found in a valley filled with marble blocks and mining equipment.

Also found in the area are plenty of Kinetic Ores, which store momentum when struck, before launching in a given direction.
Slappy Shores
Part factory, part town, Slappy Shores is one of our favorite new POIs to visit. There’s plenty of loot on both sides of the bridge, and even more Slap Juice to get your hands on.

Slappy Shores looks like it could be a remix of both Slurpy Swamp and Dirty Docks, meaning it could look familiar to old-school Fortnite fans.
The Citadel
The Citadel is a brand-new castle to siege, ruled by The Ageless. This mysterious new figure is the Tier 100 skin in the new Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass.

Expect to find fierce fights within the fortress walls, both from other players and likely also from The Ageless himself…
All Map Changes in Fortnite Chapter 4
The Fortnite Fracture event saw the old island completely destroyed as it was overtaken by Chrome. However, players were able to construct a brand-new island by pulling together various landmasses, with the help of The Paradigm.
As such, while some locations may seem familiar, many are brand-new POIs entirely.
What’s more, not all of the new map seems entirely coherent, as bits and pieces were pulled together to form the landmass. Expect roads that lead to a dead-end, with biomes and POIs that seem just a little out of place!

What Were Old Fortnite Maps Like?
Fortnite has had 3 major maps that each changed significantly over their chapter’s respective seasons.
Chapter 1 had the most basic map, but it’s one that a lot of OG players remember fondly. Although there was a lot of greenery, it was the birth of an incredible Battle Royale experience that even Epic Games couldn’t predict would be this successful.
Of course, while the map saw a lot of changes over the seasons, this is how the original BR map was set out:

With Chapter 2, we got our first new map, with a lot more POIs right off the bat. There was also a great deal more variety to enjoy, and fewer rolling green hills.

Most recently, Chapter 3 was Fortnite’s most varied map yet. With several varied biomes to explore, traveling the map felt like you were truly journeying into new regions.

But we expect that Chapter 4 is going to bring us our best map yet, and we can’t wait to see how it evolves over the seasons to come!
